Argh, my Kobo has issues - again. Had to factory-reset and now I can't get it setup again, which means I'm currently without an ereader. Withdrawal has already set in. Thinking about buying a Nook...

GAH! I'm still suffering with my phone & nook. I really, really want a new kindle. Hope you get something soon!

Thanks! I hope you can get a new Kindle quickly! What kind of Nook do you have and how are you liking it?
I have a simple touch and it's okay. I really prefer to read in the kindle. I feel like it's more user friendly as well as amazon.
Hm, I was almost tempted to buy a Kindle today, just to have a nice, proper and smooth-running device, but I really don't want to bind myself to Amazon... I want an open system, so there's really only the Nook left after my disappointing experience with the Kobo. :-(
Do you have Calibre? You can convert pdf and ePub to mobi files really easily using calibre. And then load the books you buy from publishers and whatnot onto your kindle.
Ah, that's good to know, thanks! I do have Calibre, so I could do the conversion. I'm still extremely wary of Amazon in general, but I'll think about it. :) I just want a well-functioning ereader with no hassle, no freezing problems, stable software and good support. *lesigh*
