Is there another glitch? Or is it just me? Whenever I try to like anything it gives me an error message.

Jayson I get the same thing. With me, when I try to like more than 80 items in one session, it times me out for an hour or more. I don't know whether it's the same with you. It's been going on three days for me.

I've tried contacting them about it, but my message on the contact page never goes through because they say they've received too many e-mails.

Oh wow, okay, I did not count but I would say that it's probably the same.
Because I was liking something and one went through and then the next one gave me an error. 🤦‍♀️
If this is on purpose than it's really stupid.
I mean if you wanted to like an update from each friend and let's say you have 800, it would take you 10 hours. Who has time for that?

From the same link I showed you before about seeing comments, there's a link to a page where you can see all your likes. There's 30 per page, I think, which is how I counted them.

Because it's an even number, I think it's 100% intentional, probably something to do with cutting down on bots. But, boy, does it make this site needlessly frustrating. I like to like updates from all my friends too.

Oh, thank you.

I mean, I can get it that they have good intentions. But at the same time, 80 is so little! And people are not going to wait an hour to like something.
I like to go to my friends' profiles to see if they have reviews I've missed because my feed is terrible at showing me the reviews. 🤷‍♀️

They cap you at 5000 for friends but 80 for likes? Clearly not smart thinking.
And I could see them limiting newly created accounts. Like if someone creates a new account and then goes and likes thousands and thousands reviews...
But limited people who were using the site for years is just stupid. Or at least for them they should increase the number of likes.

Yeah, it's really messed up my routine. It used to be that I'd set aside the same time every day to scroll through my feed to like statuses and reviews, but I can't do that anymore. Once people are able to contact their technical support again, and assuming this is still a problem, I'm going to be pressing them hard on this issue.

I mean same here. I would just scroll/like go to profiles/like and that's it. When I read a book I just liked a bunch of reviews I liked. 🤷‍♀️
Now? It's just annoying.
Yeah, hopefully, the customer support is working soon. Just brilliant idea, implement something new and then close of customer support. 🤦‍♀️
I said it during the last big glitch. And I'm saying it now, GR needs a better way how to communicate with GR users. And a way how to announce their new features. They added a horror banner last time just fine. What would stop them from posting "we are testing a new feature on how to limit bots. Leave your feedback here ..."

MischaS_ Oh, and I almost forgot to ask you... did you notice a limit on comments as well? Because comments were the issue last time and now I wonder if they are doing something about them as well.

I think the reason is that they really don't want people contacting them. That's why their contact link is so difficult to find. I think they deliberately put it in their "About us" section and not in their "Help" section so people would have trouble finding it, but that they would have plausible deniability about hiding it since it does, in fact, exist on the site. 🙄

I haven't noticed that yet. But then, I don't comment nearly as often as I like things. I'll keep an eye out for it.

I mean like at the beginning of the year I needed to contact them rather fast and it took them ages to reply. 🤦‍♀️
But yes, I agree that they don't want to be contacted and try to put any customer support at a minimum. Same reason why they almost never reply to anyone on Twitter or Facebook.

Same here... but thinking about trying it. That when I reach the limit for likes I'll try to leave dozens of comments to see if that will close of as well.

I'd be very interested in the results if you do. Right now I'm just glad Goodreads doesn't put a Captcha on comments, which is something I can totally see happening.

I mean... don't give them ideas!
