JG is pretty awesome. I just have a problem taking Methodists seriously.

Yesterday I was close to agreeing with you but I'm finishing up v2 tonight and it's absolute rubbish.
I’ve never read this series, only articles of his relating to aspects of the church in Late Antiquity, and a humorous overview of early heresies. In those, he’s well versed. Though again, a Methodist by choice, so... pinches of salt and all that.
