I love Greg Bear's contribution to the story so far. Unfortunately, mankind has always tried to convert the people they colonize to their own religion. Why should we hope for anything different if and when we reach the stars?

I'm really enjoying this collaboration so far. Just as an aside, I wish more sci fi books had a couple illustrations in them as this book does. There are some awesome alien life-forms depicted here and I appreciate the sketches included here sooo much.
