One connection I made while reading was how when Lida was gifted a new dress that she was going to give to her friend, she was accused of stealing it. A connection I can make is being accused of something I didn't do. It wasn't stealing but my mom alleged me of lying in a situation when truly I didn't. This is a connection I made while reading even though it wasn't the exact same scenario, the principle is similar.

Lida is working in the laundry and her new friends work different jobs they have been assigned. One day a machine explodes and Lida runs outside. Her friends have been injured in the accident. Some go to the hospital and some are sent back to their barracks. Luka went to the hospital from his injuries. No visiting allowed but Lida sneaked in. They visited and then Lida knew she had to scurry back to the Laundry.
