This may sound weird, but my first take is when French writes dialogue for her first American main character, it sounds like she learned American English by reading a whole lotta Stephen king.

Is this a new Dublin murder squad? The last stand alone of hers wasn't mind-blowing imho

This is another standalone. It had some good stuff about it, but not my fave. I want her to get back to the squad!
