Trope-wise we're past the deception stage. The "fun" should be about to start

Connie getting knocked out reminds me of a non-fiction essay from Clarkesworld about how getting knocked out is way more serious than the way we treat it in fiction.

We arrive at the sexy times and they are indeed pretty hot and heavy.

Either it's a typo, the author is having fun with us, or a group of vampires is called a kiss of vampires.
I explained the plot so far to my wife. Her comment - "that's some underworld shit"
So far I'm enjoying things. Let's see how we go as we move towards the climax (no pun intended)

Things get a little steamy - both metphorically and literally

very interesting concept. Curious to see where the author takes it. So far a great story balance, not just romance (or really much of any)

I can't remember why I have this. Maybe it was a Humble Bundle or StoryBundle from before I started using tags in Calibre to keep track of that. Maybe it's one of free ebooks I get each month from Amazon.com. Hard to tell as I have it in all formats, but I might have just done some conversions at some point. We'll see how this goes.
At any rate I think this is my 2nd romance book and my 1st monster romance book.
