Reading this is like constantly finding yourself defending dozens of different, opposite views, at once. It's a vicious circle: you're finally beginning to construct a cohesive opinion on a matter before it crumbles away with the next paragraph, so you build another. And it goes on.

This is the slowest I've been progressing with any work by Foucault so far. The text is unbelievably dense and clanky at times, but it also feels like every single sentence manages to modify my view of medicine as a whole. I'm very intrigued, I'll go on.
