If I recall the movie adaptation correctly, the culprit’s relationship to the victim is the same as it is here in the novel. Here in the novel, though, the culprit had help.

Italians do not have many desserts. (Tiramisu?! 😋) Their tradition has always been to end a meal with with fruit - pastries were for festive occasions only.
