Kulin is a master of historical fiction. You almost feel as if you are reading a history book - an interesting one. The characters are so intricately woven in a political narrative of the time that you don't feel you are not living the characters' lives. The human emotions and the human fallacies will always be the strength of the book.

Typically Kulin. Thorough in history. Detailed in character. A tad slow on story though.
