I wouldn't necessarily think it was a bad thing that Jess is constantly talking about her baby in the midst of a paranormal attack... except that Luke is also here and he hasn't mentioned his child once. Men writing mothers always write as though it's the woman's job to watch over the kid and the father just picks them up a few times.
