I own a couple of the Whitlatch novels with Eastman covers. Was hoping to buy more before starting the books. Are they standalones or ...? How’s the writing?

I have them all. Standalones, despite the numbers making it look like a series, which was just a marketing ploy as the first batch of books were all released simultaneously. They were popular back in the day. Just started a re-reading and in this first one the writing's not bad. Maybe spends too much time on some scenes that do little to advance the story, which slows the pacing a bit.

I remember the series well... mostly because of the Eastman cover-art. Real 1960s Men's Sweat Mags artwork.
