Never mind, gave up. The name dropping of various historical figures and short info dumps every other page is god awful and makes it read more like research notes about late 19th century New York that someone tried to mash together to make a story. Also, not a single character was likable or interesting. Had potential to be quite good, but did not deliver enough to keep me reading.
