The Long Goodbye ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⑤
Along with The Little Sister, this is Chandler at the top. Reading these novels in order has been fascinating in terms of Chandler's evolving tonal and stylistic tendencies.
Murakami could've slipped in a cameo from the Sheep Man in his translation of The Long Goodbye and it would not have been out of place.
