I'm almost done with this book, and while there is a lot of good information in it, there is a lot of frustrating dogma as well. It speaks to the neurology of the the "typical" female brain, and if you find yourself or your daughter in any way outside of that, you will feel excluded.

I lost the thread of this for a while, absorbed in the more rollicking tales of Melville and Vidal. But I’m back and hope to glean something else.

Mixed feelings as I read this book. There is a lot of useful information but the author uses words like “trauma” to describe normal female brain function. I think I know what he’s getting at but I wish he wouldn’t use such loaded terms.
