chapter 2 ends on a bit of a sour note for me... i get engaging w/ obama’s campaign as a pop cultural rather than political phenomenon but ironically, focusing on his comments on gay marriage and not acknowledging his legacy of imperialism plays into the very same homonormativity tongson critiques! we’ll see if she reckons with this later.
