I took time to finish this book despite purchasing it some 3 years ago. It wasn’t because the theme was too heavy, nor the language too deep. I thought of it as an accompanying anecdote throughout my own journey as a medical student. Fatefully, in the year after that purchase, I too met with a graze of death which struck me as a revelation: death is not a thing to fear but a process to endure, painful yet sublime.
