Right now so many powerful things are happening. There were so many points made about the black lives matter movement, how there's systematic racism, and it really just pulls you into perspective of people, and how there being treated. The most heartbreaking thing was seeing Alfonso's mom holding his pillow and sobbing. It's terrible to know thas something people live every day

This book is already crazy amazing. Everything that is happening is just so heartbreaking but it's the ugly truth of the world we live in. It breaks my heart that Alfonso was killed in front of his friend and that in real life people witness that. I'm not sure why but when he became a spirt and someone gave him his trumpet that moved me to get teary-eyed. I wish we could see a change. It's truly a broken system.
