Status Update

Frederick is on page 369 of 1280

Although I read extremely positive reviews about this novel, I reluctantly started the read. This has obviously to do with the number of pages. Each time I read of book of a similar size, I always have the feeling - no matter how well the book is written - that the author could have skipped 100 pages, bearing in mind Goethe's famous quote "In der Beschränkung zeigt sich der Meister". But so far no complaints.
