Kind of cringey. I think that there is a fine line between a supportive husband and therapist who protects autonomy and...whatever is happening in this book. MPD is a devastating mental illness and I do believe it is real, I just think it’s bizarre not just to enable this woman’s desire to sustain her mental illness, but to participate by forming meaningful relationships with the alters.
