I am now on the part where Tengo finally met Amaome after 20 years. They finally held each other's hands and now I'm down to the last 35 pages of this book. After this one, I wouldn't have any copy of a Murakami novel left unread aside from my PDF copy of Pinball, 1973 and Hear the Wind Sing. I wonder when will the English translation of Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage be available. Haha

Honestly, the chapters involving Ushikawa's investigations are slowly getting a bit ho-hum for me. It is slow-paced, and there is no interesting scene so far. It seems like Murakami is just telling what's on Ushikawa's mind all throughout those chapters. I hope it will build up in the latter part of the book. (Or is it just me, because it's been a couple of weeks since I last read 1Q84?)

Now on book three. The ugly Ushikawa joins the limelight.

Almost halfway through this book... Tengo... Amaome... They are powerfully related to each other... The ugly Ushikawa... The Leader... Fuka-Eri's naked body... The Little fucking People... The two moons... *hyperventilates*

"I need a gun," Amaome said flatly. "One that would fit in a handbag. Something with a small recoil but still fairly powerful and dependable. Not a modified fake or one of those Filipino copies. I'll only need to use it once. And one bullet should be enough." (p.403) hmmm... LOL!

It took me almost two and a half months to finish the first book but I'm enjoying the novel so far. The usual Murakami elements are there, and possibilities seem endless. On to the next one. Let's do this! Hoo-ha!
