Maybe it's just the truly incredible racism, but somehow this book is the worst thing I've ever attempted to read, despite catering to my interests of a) The Sea, b) incredibly homosocialism and c) random tangents about religion. How is it there are so many incredibly good lines and yet it's so boring? I haven't even met Ahab yet. The ship hasn't LEFT yet.
