This has been on my reading list since high school and it's been gnawing at me ever since. In fact, it's been used as a stand for my monitor since 2018 as it's incredibly bulky. I've learned enough about DFW that I feel finally ready to tackle this monstrous epic.
Pen in hand and highlighter in the other. Let's see where this takes me.

Okay honest to god - I've been trying to read this book but I'm going through the stages. Life gets in the way.
As of typing this, only minutes ago, I've murdered my copy as purist would deem it. Three distinct sections now sit on my desk after the mutilation.
Section 1: 0-534
Section 2: 534-End
Section 3: Footnotes
I understand this is grounds for excommunication but by god I will finish this book this time.

things I've learned so far
• by time i finish this novel there's going to be at least 1000+ words that are highlighted since DFW loves words.
• best strategy is reading 10 pages a day - Christmas and New Years slowed me down.
• in conjunction with this I've begun reading and watching smaller pieces of work by him that i quite enjoy.
• hopefully I'll check in next month around 400 pages
