Yeah, it makes sense that he would sink. His density is insane... But five-sixish pages earlier he held his breath for 10 minutes, right? And now he struggled for 4? What happened here?

Vampire Eater is 60% done

Shame, this book started out strong but ever since the portal my interest has been declining for various reasons. One, not enough true conflict, there’s too much aimless meandering and a lot of ‘fat’ that could have been trimmed. Two, I like my vampires more traditionally grounded – I want my vampires to be vampires, not wizards or aliens with vampire elements… this checks both those unwanted boxes. 😒

This has taken a different turn than I hoped… I didn’t realize these vampires weren’t really… “earth realm” creatures? I liked the quirky humor and modern setting. Ah well, still not bad as far as story goes.
