Those of you who’ve followed me a while know that I like to anchor my reading in one or more big “projects.” For 2021 and possibly longer, I’ve chosen the Norton Anthology of World Literature. However, since many of the books in that anthology are abridged, im using it as a guide and seeking out full texts where I can. The first book in the Anthology is Gilgamesh, for which I’ve chosen the Ferry translation.

In the context seeking out full texts: A new tablet of this epic was found in 2019 in Iraq which was not included in the book I read. It might be worth looking into if you want to get the full story.
