I usually dig Fantasy, and I usually dig YA, but this is not going well. I'll give it a bit more, but. Like. I'm cool with talking animals. But why have them be bears if they also don't have any bear-ishness to their nature? Why not be another tribe of humans? Like I said, I'll give it some more time, but. So far. Meh. Don't read books just 'cause they're free, I guess.

Eh. It’s fine. I’ll finish it. But the problem with reading multiple books at a time: sometimes one of them is overwhelmingly not written as well. Unfortunately this is the case here.

Still weird and while the concept is interesting, feels very ill-executed. But it’s kinda fun if I don’t think about it too hard? So I guess I’ll keep slogging through.
