I saw the movie, bought the book but then waited a year to read it. And it was worth the wait! The journal of Desiree is exciting and intriguing and so relatable. Napoleon is such a polarizing character that never quite leaves her life. It’s almost as if his humanity is linked to her and only surfaces in the way he interacts with her. Fascinating.

Story told via journal is pretty good so far. The movie install in my mind.
