I gave up on it. Eventually the scope is too scattered, and the tribes mentioned too many to be presented as the author did. I had to keep reminding myself when this was written, and tried to also make perhaps unfounded presumptions about the authors perspective.
I’m glad I picked this up, and glad I ripped through 1/4 of it in the first days, but trying to read a few pages before bed of this is tough going.

Look at it this way, I bought this book 7 hours ago. It’s fairly dense with dates, names, tribes etc and tells multiple accounts of events then tell why they’re likely right or wrong. Anyway, I’m nearly 100 pages in already and am absolutely enthralled. Love that I’m learning so much more about my region of the country and it’s rich cultural heritage that none of “us Americans” were taught in school.

This continues to be of interest, however it seems to run in circles at times just naming tribes and assumed locations and alliances but it’s impossible to keep track of in any sort of linear way.
