Uuuhg. I just got finished reading a wonderful series with the most emotionally adulty adults ever. Now I'm reading this and I can't tell if I don't like it because it's so opposite of what I just read, or if the childish and manipulative antics are going to stop and I'm going to care about these characters? Interesting that the Hating Game is a favorite of mine, but I DNFed To Have and to Hoax. WHICH WILL THIS BE?

Oh, no! I haven't read To Have and To Hoax, but I loved this. Maybe reading Sally Thorne's books right before helped me though?? I hope you stick with it and like it in the end, but I totally understand if that looong beginning in a claustrophobic first person POV and immature shenanigans make you drop it. :)

Yeah, miscommunication or just refusal to talk is not my favorite trope! I think I was ok with it in the Hating Game because they weren't in a relationship to begin with so misunderstanding each other's feelings seemed plausible. But if you're engaged or married to someone, I would think you would talk to each other rather than prank each other to manipulate. 🤔 But we'll see. I'm already so far in, I'll probably finish it at this point!

I can't wait to see what you think in the end. After I finish up the ACOTOR series, I'll be jumping into Cara Bastone's books -- your reviews made me so excited! :)
