This biography of William Blake is full of poetry excerpts and engravings, along with detailed accounts of things that happened a long time ago. Other than that, it's great!

Blake seems to have been a rather immature and unpleasant peron.

The biographer is certain he knows what Blake thinks about what's going on in his life by inferring it from his poetry. I'm not sure I trust this.

It is comforting to see that Blake was way crazier than I am.

To explain -why- this book is disturbing: the author paints a clear and simple picture of William Blake as tortured by strange convictions and living a life of self-inflicted failure.

How do I know if the picture this author presents of William Blake is at all accurate? Real or not, the Blake presented here is a very intriguing and disturbing person.

As I've already noted, the author is almost as strange as Blake.
