The Tell Tale Heart (Poe) - Does it get better than this? Not much. I always imagine the narrator with Anthony Perkins's face. Not crazy, not a bit. I wouldn't even harm a fly.

The signalman (Dickens) - What should a rational man do with a supernatural warning of impending disaster? Warn others and be ignored and labelled a lunatic? Or say nothing and watch the disaster occur? He is helpless to stop it either way.
