This is one of my favourite books and I’m rereading it for the third time. It captures in great detail the culture of BC salmon fishing in the 1970s, and provides a loving portrait of the author’s relationship with her husband. It’s details on life in the small isolated communities of the PNW and its accounts of the fishing way of life make it a captivating read.
