Chapter 81

This is absolutely insane. Both sides have lost whatever dignity they had. Is there any hope left?

Natalia wanted to collapse back into her pile, but she couldn't. Not after seeing the excitement and admiration-- the things Natalia had felt for her mother, father, and grandmother-- replaying in those big brown eyes..

A long field stretches out before them. Billy sees Isabel marching with a troop of children surrounding her, including those who will become Natalia's parents. All of them are sick, tired, and weary, but they keep marching through grass and mud, down highways, and across rushing rivers. Isabel's only bag is tattered, carrying nothing but food and a beautiful wooden cross.

So much craziness now. People are taking sides and fighting for what's right. I never expected Paper Armor to be this good, or for things to escalate like they have. Really impressive character development, too!

I'm eager to see where this is heading.😲

Things are getting SO intense!

That night, the sky emptied itself. The crater of Heaven's Hole was baptized in white. Snow blanketed the town's sins, and its immorality flowed like sewage into one small drain-- a tiny, thin-skinned Atlas named Billy Jakobek, who raced through the night, carrying the weight of every person on his aching back.
