This book is really helpful for understanding how we got to this point. I thought maybe I'd get to go back to work today but I knew by Saturday that wouldn't be the case, then I thought maybe Thursday, and now I'm just hoping to go back this month. Things are ugly. It will be interesting to see what happens with this McConnell-Reid deal. I don't think the House will like it one bit. And there are enough jerks there who don't take default very seriously. Or they would rather avoid default for now but keep the government closed. We shall see....

I know. It looks like the Senate will present a bill to the House today, but that doesn't mean that the House will pass it. I heard last night the House Repubs intend to offer up another bill on its own. If so, we won't get anything done by tomorrow.

Hang in there - at least, you've had time to work on your blog, which continues to be awesome by the way :)
