This is not what I thought it would be. Radu is annoying and I don't see what is so great about Mehmed. I respect Lada but this is (so far at least) not the situation I want to see her in. Tbh, I think half the problem is my current reading mood but I'm frustrated and kind of want to dnf yet another book...

A great passage, the contrast between Lada fighting to lead her own batallion despite being a woman and Radu being gifted command despite not being qualified or interested. It really shows how self-centered Radu is in how he views Lada and the privilege he enjoys as a beautiful boy with disarming charm.
