This is a treasure of essays! One of those books that makes you appreciate the craft of sentences. Not to mention one that causes you to purchase other books (Donald Frame's study of Rabelais; Erasmus' letters; Irwin's companion to The Arabian Nights--yes, yes, I need them all!).
