I won't know until I finish the book, but it might be worth risking my life. I mean I hope not. But awww he gave a homeless man the shirt off his back! And all his money! And he has to dig around for food 😭 And now he just gave her his hard-earned money! All he had for his dinner and breakfast, and now he will dig for food again! 💔🤍

I freaking loved the part when he handed off his "green paper" in exchange for the boots from the homeless guy! It was such an eye-opener about how silly our money system is. He's so practical, too. "Like, boots for some random paper? Seems legit." Hahaha.
I hate that he had to go so hungry and with such a BEasty appetite... ONE of my fave scenes is when Maddie is feeding him for the first time!

Goya’s upper lip curled in an involuntary snarl. “Well, no need to look like that,” she soothed, mistaking his scorn. “I still have a carton of eggs in the fridge. I can make you a giant Spanish tortilla or ham and cheese omelet. I can use the smoked sausages too."

I so loved Maddie for just feeding him over and over and never getting frustrated. If my hubbie wanted me to feed him that much, I'd like Boy, feed yoself! (I'm a terrible housewife haha I sit around and read all day 😅)
