Had something really upsetting happen (if you follow me on tumblr, that’s where I talk about it) and it’s amazing how much the calmness of Vaelin helps calm me down, because these panic attacks are beyond fucked.

Damn, going from acosf to this is like having whiplash. This book is pretty hetero- and cisnormative, but it's so good that it doesn't bother me that much. The writing and world-building and plot and characters more than make up for it.

I love the others, but Nortah remains my favorite (helps I read Raven’s Blade before Raven’s Shadow, I suppose)

I am kinda glad I read the duology first, so I know who lives and who doesn’t 😅

I didn’t plan to read this, but here we are. I’m either in the mood for strict fantasy (aka that without romance) or romance (so long as it’s queer or by an author I already like). Fantasy won this round.
