I am a fan of short stories and always keep an open mind that there will be great ones and there will be duds (IMHO). I have only read the introductions so far. Heidi Pitlor talks about the demise of the short story. I truly hope she is wrong and I will try to take her advice and take a chance on newer authors' collections.
I really enjoyed Richard Russo's anecdote which gives me high hopes for his selections.
