I feel like Champollion with "The Beast in the Jungle", ugh. Have to put the story down as it is quite unreadable... 3 attempts in 3 years to finish x3 stories, which I thought would be as delightful and enjoyable as other Henry James yarns such as "The Aspern Papers", "The Turn of the Screw", or "Daisy Miller"

Need to check my XIXth century reading barometer, so going to read a Flaubert novella and be right back
