I'm progressing VERY slowly with this book, but I'm enjoying it!
The play with narration and the symbolism are very interesting.
There's some spiritual quest going on: reaching the imaginary land of a Prester John that no one has ever met. All accounts of this priest-king seem to be a collection of individual narratives that circulate in suspicious ways and find their way into scholarly circles.
