Oops didn’t know this was a 2nd book lol. But still easy to follow along without reading the 1st one.
There’s bits of recap exposition in Chapter 1 and 3... though now I wonder if they would feel extra redundant if I had read the 1st book. I know it’s middle-grade but those areas already felt kind of clunky going in blind.
Though in general, I enjoy the writing style.
