After reading 25% I feel Native Son is one of the darkest books I’ve ever read. Similar in ways to Crime and Punishment, but Richard Wright and Dostoevsky have vastly different world views. I wonder if there can be any redemption in the world Wright created, and if it would ring true if he did.
