We must not look to the past for nostalgia and forget about living in the present. When we look too much in the past and idealize it we kind of put a gloom on the future.
Parents must not push their own anxieties or worries about life onto their kids and not controlled every waking action or behavior where it's a current power struggle that doesn't allow kids to gauge limits for themselves.
