Well written, interesting mysteries, but I’m a little worn out with the torture.
I know that if you are a profiler who works hunting serial killers, there is going to be some gruesome stuff, so perhaps it’s just that this isn’t the sort of mystery I like.
Somewhere there is a middle ground... not too “cozy”, real, but not horrific... this is a little too horrific.
