For years after her death he would hear her when he cleared his throat or feel her eyes in his when he looked at a pomegranate (a useless fruit), an artichoke, or oatmeal or the wiring in the basement. He wouldn't hear her for months and then the sound of her tone would come to him unasked. Did he like her now she was gone? Maybe. Maybe not so much.
