Pegasus getting bit by a Gadfly whilst Bellerophon tried to fly to the peak of mt Olympos has such a beautiful connotation I never 'got' about Socrates calling himself a Gadfly... 30+ years of reading myth... a minor nearly a major in my bachelors degree... and I'm still learning.
