I saw this book in the bookstore today, would you say it is any good so far?

Other than not liking some of the thoughts/actions the main character made in a few spots, I enjoyed it. I understood it better in the next book, but then I was disappointed in the direction the author took with one of the other characters.
But bottom line, I wouldn't have those feelings about either character if I wasn't sucked in a little, right?
