The party has completed their first exploration of the Colorado. Now, Powell returns to the region to better understand the surrounding landscape and its connection to the River. He explores Mukun’tuweap (now known as the main canyon of Zion national park), Paru’nuweap, the Vermillion Cliffs, and ascends Navajo Mountain (I believe, given my knowledge of the region), all with the help of local tribes.
