What a feast of writing styles! So far, the funniest story has been Wood Allen's 'The Kugelmass Episode,' while the most worthy of study has been Henry James's "The Beast in the Jungle.' The short bios for each author add a welcomed dimension to this book.

Wow! A reader's treasure trove. I feel like I walked into a candy store stocking every variety of literary styles--classic to contemporary--from more than 100 writers featuring 124 stories plus 75 of their commentaries about their stories and fellow writers in this anthology, plus introductory bios of the contributors, plus casebook studies by the authors, etc. Who cannot love this textbook study on short fiction?
